Since March 16, UFTM Hospital das Clínicas in Uberaba – MG has been investing in structural changes to improve its unit to serve COVID-19 patients. The current reinforced structure came from necessity, but the hospital had been investing since last year in improvements for diagnoses, and that is where we entered.

In search of improvement in its already installed structure, the hospital sought one of our installer partners. With the general renovation, it was also necessary to replace essential peripheral equipment, such as the CHILLER RM, for use in conjunction with the hospital’s MRIs.

We provided for the process an equivalent to what they already had in capacity with more than 110kW of effective capacity. Therefore, the hospital has a reinforced health structure to combat various diseases, including COVID-19.

Especially in the beginning of the pandemic, it was very common that the tests were not totally faithful to the patients’ clinical situation. In addition, the time between sample collection and the results of these tests was much greater than the advance and speed of the corona virus.

In these situations, still waiting for confirmation and already referring patients for treatment, health professionals began to identify common characteristics in patients with COVID in tomography, magnetic resonance and radiology exams.

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC-Centers for Disease Control) do not recommend that the diagnosis be made exclusively by radiology or computed tomography, but in case of unavailability or waiting for the results of the viral examination, radiological information may contribute to the management and treatment of patients.
